CloudNine CMA

Camarillo, CA

CloudNine at Camarillo is a unique aviation development designed to accommodate multiple single-user aviation tenants within a custom-designed aviation campus. The soon-to-be-constructed project includes four 25,000 SF hangars, each with a dedicated office and support area. The hangars are designed so that a single tenant can utilize one or two hangars at the same time, since each pair of hangars is constructed as a single building with an optional demising wall between the hangar spaces. In order to accommodate the latest corporate aircraft, including the Bombardier Global 7500, the hangar door height has been increased above the industry standard of 28’ to 30’. All four hangars open onto a two-acre ramp area to allow for operational flexibility and excellent positioning on the airfield for arrivals and departures. The architectural design and finish of the facility are distinguished by a theme of “modern elegance” that is integrated throughout the project. Abundant polycarbonate clerestory panels are used at the hangars to “float” the roof plane and provide daylight within each space. Architectural metal wall panels and aluminum composite panels in warm colors are accented with high-pressure laminate wood panels and stone to balance out the exterior design. Along the street-side, the theme is accentuated with architectural louvers, green screens, and stone accent walls to provide privacy for the tenants as well as a visual gateway to the airport along its primary access from US-101.
