CBP Facility SBD

San Bernardino, CA

In an effort to turn San Bernardino International Airport (SBIA) into a premier facility for commercial airlines, JRMA provided design and structural engineering for the new U.S. Customs and Border Protection Facility on the site. Meant to help attract airlines, especially those from Mexico and Central America and frequent travel destinations for Southern California residents, the customs facility features spacious passenger areas, as well as inspection stations and interview rooms for customs officers. Necessary to the international infrastructure of the airport, the three-story facility can quickly and efficiently process international passengers and cargo. The office space on the third floor distinguishes itself from the rest of the terminal with a separate entrance while the public area offers the safety and security necessary for a customs building.
