Arconic Fastening Systems and Rings Facility

Rancho Cucamonga, CA

This project consisted of the relocation of an existing 10,000-ton forging press from overseas to a new building centered in the middle of the site between two existing process buildings. The new project expanded the existing operations, allowing Arconic to continue to provide its clients with parts used in the aeronautics industry. JRMA provided design services to produce a bid set plans and provide Arconic with construction cost estimates that were used to determine Return on Investment (ROI) for the project. Once the project was approved to move forward by Arconic’s Board, a contractor was selected. The JRMA design team completed the foundation portion of the construction documents and submitted a Foundation Only package of the new electrical room and new power service plan set to the City for review and approval. A Foundation Only permit was necessary because Arconic requested that construction on a small portion of the project be allowed to start early in order to stay on schedule. JRMA submitted the remaining portion of the project to the City for review and approval. This enabled Arconic to get a jump start on the construction activities. During the completion of the foundation construction for the electrical room, JRMA received agency approval of the rest of the project, allowing the general contractor to stay on site and move immediately into the press foundation construction and ultimately the remainder of the project.
