Designed to meet the growing municipal solid waste needs of the County of Los Angeles, this new facility has the capacity to process 4,400 tons per day (TPD). The main building is 215,000 s.f., large enough to accommodate three football fields and has a span 300 ft. clear with a ridge clear height of 55 ft. Six under floor truck load-out positions provide transfer capabilities to off-site landfill locations. Located within the main building, the 37,000 s.f. Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) provides mechanized sorting of recyclables for compaction, baling and shipment from a loading dock. The three-story administration building includes an atrium lobby and bridge gallery for visitors to enter the main building and view the daily MRF and transfer operations from overhead. The 25-acre site also includes scale facilities, fuel station, and a 10,000 s.f. truck maintenance building.
