Cal-Waste Recovery Systems Transfer Station

Galt, CA

When California Waste Recovery Systems acquired an existing 97,000 plus square foot concrete tilt-up building in Galt, they hired JRMA to assist with master planning for the new transfer station and materials recovery facility (MRF) to be located there. The building required new interior offices, a new truck wash area with pre-treatment of the discharge water, truck scales, and fencing.

The biggest improvement was the installation of recycling processing equipment. JRMA worked with Cal-Waste and the City of Galt to review current equipment and processing systems, visit similar sites to see how they operated, and then create a design plan and coordinate the bidding process for an equipment vendor. The facility was completed in 2015 and currently processes 100 tons of material per day.
