Bee’ah MRF

Sharjah, United Arab Emirates

A sleek, modern facility sits on the desert sands of the Emirate of Sharjah. Inside is a high-tech residential and commercial materials recovery facility (MRF) that can process up to 90 tons of materials per hour. The MRF building houses a large tipping floor, three parallel sorting systems, an elevated, enclosed sorting station, baling and bale storage areas, an exterior residue loading bay, and a shipping dock. Adjacent to the MRF are a two-bay vehicle maintenance building and a two-story administrative building.

JRMA was retained to be the Program Consultant, working in conjunction with Project Architect Bregmann + Hamann of Toronto.  As part of the basic Facility Design programming services, JRMA was responsible for determining the facility layout based on MRF processing goals and additional operations and maintenance needs.

“ The Bee'ah MRF is the largest facility of its kind in the middle East and the third largest in the world.”
