JRMA Awarded Multi-Project Design and Engineering Services Contract with the Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority for Landfill Facility Improvements

Brea, CA (February 20, 2024) JRMA, a leading engineering and design firm, has been awarded a comprehensive contract by the Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority (SVSWA) for three landfill facility improvement projects. The JRMA team will provide their design and engineering expertise for various work at the Johnson Canyon Landfill in Gonzales, CA; Crazy Horse Landfill in Salinas, CA; and Jolon Transfer Station in King City, CA.

JRMA services will include conceptual and final design, cost estimation, and/or construction planning for the three projects. The projects include enhancing entrance facilities at the Johnson Canyon Landfill for improved traffic flow and enhanced public recycling drop-off, designing a new public convenience transfer station at the closed Crazy Horse Landfill, and providing construction plans for the asphalt paving project at the Jolon Transfer Station.

The JRMA Design Team, in collaboration with SVSWA stakeholders, will conduct site tours, analyze existing conditions, and gather relevant data to provide conceptual designs to be used in cost estimates. Multiple options will be presented, allowing SVSWA to make informed decisions regarding facility improvements at each project location.

Joining JRMA for the project will be NAI Consulting Engineers, Pacific Crest Engineers, Bowman & Williams, and Writhlin Consulting Group.
