Building information modeling (BIM) creates a virtual design environment where all of the design components come together in 3D, providing:
-
Structure and building systems interference identification that will minimize field problems
-
A 3D model that can be developed and rendered for effective presentations
-
Construction sequencing solutions that can be studied (and visualized)
-
Material quantity take-off data for better and earlier construction cost estimates
-
More effective evaluation of sustainable/green features for USGBC LEED© Certification
With these advantages comes powerful dynamic collaboration with the Owner and Contractor early in the design process. The completed model then simplifies the production of construction drawings for permitting and construction.
Many of JRMA’s projects are now developed architecturally and structurally in Revit®, the state-of-the-art BIM software supported by Autodesk®.
